IEC Standard - Security Fog Device / System

Published:

The IEC work program accepts the European Standard for Security Fog Devices EN50131-8 to be developed as an International Standard.

The adopted number for the draft version (CDV) of the standard is IEC 62642-8.

The IEC is an organization that prepares and makes public maufacturing standards for a variety of products. It is the world's leading publisher of International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies — collectively known as electrotechnology.

The purpose of the IEC's guidelines is to ensure that machines are built and installed to fixed standards. This greatly assists insurers, alarm companies, authorities and customers when selecting and using products. It also offers insights into the fundamental workings of security smoke; explaining everything from electrical safety, performance, signage, and monitoring to consumables and the smoke itself.
