Mission Impossible for Euronics Raiders

On Wednesday May 12th, a Euronics warehouse in Frankfurt, Germany, was targeted by an organized gang shortly after midnight. Thanks to the Smoke Screen system, the attempted raid lasted less than 20 seconds and the criminals fled the scene empty-handed.

Markus Bach, Managing Director of Concept Fog Security, Concept Smoke Screen's sister company based in Germany, was in charge of the Smoke Screen installation. He said: "Euronics Frankfurt is the biggest electronic retailer in the region and belongs to a specialist European network of more than 1,500 suppliers. The warehouse contains more than 4 million Euros worth of mobile phones, flat screen TVs and communication equipment. The warehouse is also protected by a Safetec alarm system and state-of-the-art Smoke Screen system."

Three of the expert thieves scaled the warehouse while the getaway driver waited outside in a 7-ton truck. Judging by the size of the vehicle, they had clearly expected to get away with a large haul. On the warehouse roof, the thieves smashed opened a skylight wih an axe, then lowered down a folding ladder.

It was the ladder that triggered the alarm and set off the Smoke Screen system, which instantly filled the whole area with dense security fog. With their intended loot disappearing below them in a formidable cloud of smoke, the crooks retreated from the roof and fled.

When the stock was checked the next day it was revealed that nothing had been taken, and the only damage had been to the skylight in the roof. The Smoke Screen system had saved Euronics many millions of dollars.
